It's always beautiful to discover that a true love story can be at the origin of an entrepreneurial successful story. Gerda and Nikolai met in the Seventies'. They felt in love and got married. Thanks to a common goldsmith trainee and a strong passion for unconventional natural materials and oversized avantgarde jewellery , the couple quickly came up to the brillant idea of becoming business partners and founding their own company. They did it in 1973. Decades have passed and Monies- the name since 1988- has grown in Denmark and worldwide: the Copenhagen based maison, with a worskop by the waterfront, is now an internationaly renowned and flourishing jewellery company. Mrs and Mr Monies manage the business with the same passion and commitment they had when they started this amazing journey. With the same desire to enjoy what they do. What a lovely surprise to know that their two sons, Karl and Niels, have already entered the family business. Monies is synonymous of elegance, boldness and innovation. Gerda and Nikolai are real artists who create masterpieces. Not simple jewels. Their talent was already noticed in the 90's: at that time, they were lucky to collaborate with Chanel, Christian Lacroix and Donna Karan. A few years ago, they have received the prestigious price of Brand of the Year at Elle Style Awards 2019. The Danish Maison owns five boutiques located in Copenhagen, Paris, Rome, Istanbul and Milan.
