FRANCE
Living in a “home sweet home” that meets our needs, expectations and dreams and perfectly reflects our personality and style, is the goal that most of us hope to achieve, sooner or later. A beautiful, welcoming, functional and modern home with all the amenities where we can live happily and enjoy our daily routine. A one-of-a-kind place, special to our heart, custom-designed by a skilled and talented insider. A true “magician” of interior design and architecture who can help us navigate the process from start to finish, providing all the technical details and confidently creating the perfect one for us. As Élodie Chomet, a passionate and experienced interior designer, interior architect and furniture designer originally from Paris, has been doing with dedication for her clients since 2017, the year she created her eponymous niche firm, Intérieurs CHOMET, specialized in the design and construction of bespoke luxury architectural and interior renovation, development and decoration projects. An enthusiastic, creative and ambitious woman, raised in Casablanca, a city bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, in a Franco-Moroccan family of former textile manufacturers converted into luxury residence builders, who, in her early thirties, has finally found the profession that resolutely ticks all the boxes. A challenge that would certainly no longer impose any limits on her creativity. The perfect career change for the energetic young woman, who arrived on her own at the age of 17 in the French capital, where she built a brilliant 10-year career from scratch as a freelance professional hairdresser dedicated to a wealthy and fashionista Parisian clientele. In 2011, following her lifelong passion for architecture and deeply inspired by her parents' long-standing hobby, Élodie made the strategic decision to return to school. For a year, she learned the basics and then took her first steps thanks to a 6-month internship in the prestigious Parisian Yves Rado's architectural agency. This first experience of total immersion on the field gave her the necessary background to submit an unsolicited application to IKEA, the famous Swedish brand. She was lucky enough to get in and spent two years on board designing functional accessories and furnishing objects for everyday life. A very interesting and intense professional experience she is grateful for, that changed her life and allowed her to hone her skills and dive into 360° design. The first big step to become the skilled and talented furniture designer and ecopreneur she is today. In 2015, a second big job opportunity presented itself unexpectedly and she started teaming up with Jean-Louis Bloch, a well-known furniture designer and skilled master craftsman, founder of Studio b2, who has a small niche custom production. This new job was exactly what she was looking for, at the time, to pursue her new career in a niche market. For five years, she had many responsibilities: in addition to ensuring the architecture and furniture design pole, she managed the accounts and the treasury of the company. She really learned how to run a small business as a female entrepreneur. By participating in her first renovation projects with the founder, visiting sites and working on the design, she quickly felt ready to start her own business in 2017. After becoming a mother and working two jobs for three more years, in 2020, just before the world entered the covid-19 pandemic, Élodie decided to give up her permanent contract and devoted herself entirely to her business which was starting to grow well. Thanks to former hairdressing clients, people who trust her taste and appreciate her work and with whom she had built a strong human relationship, she had the first opportunities to express her creativity in their luxury Parisian apartments. She built a solid reputation through word of mouth and the business began to flourish. Intérieurs CHOMET is today a promising small business of 3. Élodie is proud of what she has accomplished so far. Each project is a new challenge that feeds her creativity and makes her vibrate. Respectful of her human and professional values, she works hard (she helped her mother at the factory every weekend and during holidays as a teenager) with passion to design unique homes - she has almost never reproduced an interior - beautiful and luxurious custom homes that make their owners happy. Not following any trend, in partnership with clients, she takes pleasure in creating harmonious, timeless and durable spaces, functional and easy to live in, that people will cherish and never be tired of. From one owner to another. At Intérieurs CHOMET, the client is involved in the creative process and thus feels part of it. This is the right way to design interiors that fully match the client’s personality. This is why each project has a unique style. Élodie’s architectural signature is indeed, by choice, neutral. She only accepts projects that she believes in. She admits that she does not want to work with clients with whom she is not on the same wavelength and who do not share her approach. As a perfectionist and pragmatic creative, every little detail counts for her. Ambassador of a slow, fluid and silent luxury Interior Design, she has made a priority to use exclusively noble and natural materials (such as wood from sustainably managed forests, marble or stone) and to emphasize the current usefulness of properly insulating your interior. The style she prefers is contemporary, timeless, sophisticated and minimalist, characterized by neutral colors and an elegant mix of textures. She supports craftsmanship and delegates the manufacturing of custom furniture to craftsmen located in France and Portugal. The company also designs commercial spaces. Élodie and her family have chosen to live in the suburbs of Paris, in a warm and functional house that she has completely renovated. It is in this same calm place, surrounded by greenery, that she has created her office and receives her clients.
