"Since I was a child, style has always been very important to me! Style talks about our “zeitgeist" and interferes in different worlds: fashion, design, art, just to name some of them. Style talks about who we are."
Inspired by the title of a poem of Patrizia Valduga: "I have always been as I am also when I wasn’t as I am and nobody will know who I am because I’m not just the way I am.", Elena creates unique, fascinating and sophisticated head collages that stimulates discussion and touch but also, first at all, reflect her own contemporary and personal aesthetics and her inner world made of a mix of thoughts, visions, obsessions and joys, beauty and error, reality and fairy tale mood, dark and shine.
"Every woman that I’m working on, is revealing something of me, totally unknown until then. Each head collage has a name and matches with a special character: Dorotilla, Imma, Mariafuente, Blandine, Melissa, Grace, Joy, Brigida, She, Rosa..." An ode to a refined and creative femininity.
