Maison Djulia
Nice
France

At #MCCOT we are convinced that beautiful and uplifting stories have to be shared. This one is about a French mother, called Dominique and her daughter Julia, the lovely creative duo behind the Nice-based Slow couture label Maison Djulia. A close-knit and complementary female duet that has turned its passion for fashion and craftsmanship into a successful entrepreneurial adventure which started, by chance, in May 2020 during the first lockdown France had to face, cause of the pandemic of covid-19. Maison Djulia is the exciting new journey of two passionate and creative women, talented artists and skilled artisans who daily enjoy playing with cuts, shapes, volumes and premium textures to create original (unique or in limited edition only), refined, durable, timeless, seasonless and minimalist garments, slowly handcrafted with care and dedication in their workshop- a former garden shed near their home-. Special items called Lily, Mina, Eliot, Lulu, Gaston... that you will love to wear any season and any time. Easy-to-wear and comfy one-of-a-kind pieces designed to enhance the daily life of independent and free-spirited women with a strong personality who wants to shine and are not afraid to be noticed. But also funny accessories to wear. A small and promising maison with a poetic, romantic and contemporary signature infused by Japanese and Scandinavian essential fashion culture. As every little detail counts and makes a difference, as a very unconventional trademark, Dominique and Julia have chosen to add small lovely and naives embroideries on lots of items. While Dominique is busy drawing sketches, knitting, embroidering and crochetering or performing her art and know-how on her sewing machine, Julia is curating the logistics, planning a shooting, updating the website or building the brand-identity. Entering into their welcoming and cosy boutique located at 6 rue Bonaparte, a charming Nice's area, is like embarking on a fairy tale. The perfect occasion for visitors to slow down for a while and discover a unique creative universe that brings positive vibes all around. A very pleasant moment away from the fast-paced routine in company of two fairy seamstresses. A place to absolutely visit if you are in town.
