In a fast-paced, materialistic and money-driven society like ours, when you come across pure-hearted and committed human beings on a mission, happy slow founders and owners of a small young local, eco-conscious and ethical entrepreneurial and artisanal reality, make sure that you support them. Because nowadays making the bold decision to slow down and take the time needed to produce locally, ethically and slowly with dedication and passion, is actually an act of true heroism that has to be acclaimed and rewarded. Clara Navarro and her beloved mother Rafaela are modern heroines.
A year ago in December, the close-knitted and inspiring mother-daughter duo established and launched its niche and premium artisan knitwear label. The latter is called after the first name of Clara's mother, her forever inspiration and the soul of this new exciting and virtuous family adventure. Born from the desire to merge traditional knitwear craftsmanship with a timeless design vision, and guided by a strong ethical and environmental mindset, Rafaela is a legacy of love, craft and tradition. A promising brand with a genuine soul and a good purpose which celebrates and promotes a slow and mindful crafted process.
As the perfect complementary teamwork they are, to offer a collection (composed of sweaters, scarfs, bonnets, hair bows, skirts, earrings) designed to be eternal, comfortable, and timeless, mother and daughter exploit and combine their own skills: Rafaela’s mature expertise in knitting- Her hands transform yarn into art- and Clara’s modern sensibility, In their cozy workshop, located in Sabadell, a city with a rich textile heritage, just outside Barcelona, the two passionate women handcraft with extreme care no-one-alike refined long-lasting items with a unique emotional character, to cherish and wear everyday. Passing down proudly the beautiful art of knitting and bringing it back into prominence as it deserves to be.
Using, by commitment, exclusively hand-dyed wools and other natural materials, as premium mohair sourced from small and sustainable farms that ensure animal welfare and environmental respect. Inspired by a past when mothers, aunts, and grandmothers used to daily knit with love for their dear ones, each in-house creation, result of a slow, meticulous, patient and painstaking process, feels like a tender mother’s embrace.
