After adopting the mindful shopping mantra "buy less, buy better", when it comes to travelling, we definitely should get used to "Travel less, travel better". Start to choose our future dreamy destinations with care and purpose, following our heart. And pick exclusively unique eco-friendly places where to enjoy slow luxury and create unforgettable memories to cherish. Beautiful getaways surrounded by untamed nature to stay once in a lifetime where to reconnect with Mother Earth and fully enjoy its breathtaking beauty.
90 minutes north of Edinburgh and Glasgow, in the region of Perthshire, near the burg of Aberfeldy, set within 22 acres, rises Dun Aluinn, a very unique private property (accommodation is up to 26 guests) that invites every lucky guest to pause, explore, and experience the Highlands in an intimate and unforgettable way. It was bought in 2017 by John Burke, the Managing Director of award-winning builders Corryard, who specialises in bringing old properties back to life, and his wife Susie Whyte, an accomplished interior designer and architect. A place where you can feel at home, all your stay long, pampered by a dedicated team at your disposal. You are not simply renting a house - you are immersing yourself in a fully curated rare experience. From the moment you book, a dedicated Guest Experience Manager begins crafting your bespoke itinerary, handling every detail of your stay and coordinating tailored activities beyond the estate.
Originally built in 1909, the main house has been turned into a welcoming modern nine-bedroom design led exclusive use hotel after a painstaking and well-done renovation and refurbishment project. Many rooms look out over the Perthshire hills and the River Tay valley, Located alongside the main house, the four-bedroom Lodge at Dun Aluinn (Accommodating up to eight guests) is a contemporary retreat designed with the same elegance and attention to detail.
According to the owners: “Dun Aluinn is more than a place to stay, it’s an experience of Scotland at its most authentic and elevated. We created this retreat as a sanctuary where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and feel truly immersed in the beauty of the Highlands. Guests come here for privacy, but also for connection to the land, local culture, and to one another. Every detail, from the design to the warm, personal service, reflects our passion for this extraordinary place. Dun Aluinn is where luxury feels effortless, nature feels close, and unforgettable moments naturally unfold.”Staying at Dun Aluinn is also the perfect opportunity for fine gourmets to taste and enjoy the culinary excellencies of Scottish Head Chef John Christie who creates one-of-a-kind local and seasonal menus.
