THE LITTLE POETS

Portugal
In life, true friendship is something rare. That is why it is so beautiful and precious and does not have to be taken for granted at all. It is a special gift to be grateful for and to nurture slowly and carefully over time.Sometimes it also proves to be the perfect foundation for new amazing entrepreneurial journeys. Established in Portugal in 2024, the niche and premium Mediterranean-rooted children's clothing label THE LITTLE POETS began exactly with friendship.
The young and promising timeless and eco-conscious brand is the shared dream of three longtime close friends, mothers, creatives, and storytellers, united by a belief in the quiet magic of childhood, a precious chapter in life, that surely deserves beauty, imagination, and care. Three passionate, sensitive and creative women with the common desire to capture the poetry of childhood, its innocence, imagination, and emotion through effortless, expressive, and modern collections that blend heritage with a contemporary sensibility: Ana Zilhão, the Creative Director, Inês Camaño Garcia, the co-founder and Head of Quality Control & Product Development and Joana Neves, the CFO and Brand Architect.
Supported by complementary backgrounds and skills, as well as, previous successful professional experiences, the female trio has founded a brand shaped by memory, culture, and the desire to create garments made with attention, patience, and care, that feel meaningful. Ana spent more than a decade working as a fashion photographer for renowned children’s brands. Her background in photography and advertising shapes the visual language of the brand. The aesthetic is cinematic, emotional, and deeply human. Through her poetic eye and authentic voice, she shares the world of the brand with warmth and sincerity. With over seventeen years of experience in the textile industry. , Inês, who Having has previously founded a children’s brand and is now pursuing a PhD in children’s fashion, brings meticulous attention to detail and a deep devotion to craftsmanship. With more than a decade of experience in retail concept design as a professional architect, Joana contributes a unique perspective to the brand. Her deep understanding of Portuguese culture and artisanal heritage helps translate the story into form, from the atmosphere of a collection to the dream of designing THE LITTLE POETS’ future flagship store.
THE LITTLE POETS is a genuine celebration of the wonder of childhood and the beauty of things made thoughtfully. "We believe that clothing can carry emotion, that garments can become part of a child’s memories, and that the pieces we create today may one day hold stories of their own."they tell. At THE LITTLE POETS, each collection begins with an idea, sometimes a place, sometimes a feeling, sometimes a fragment of memory. From there, fabrics, silhouettes, and details slowly take shape, building a small world around that inspiration. Each piece carries a story, weaving together the past and the present, tradition and modern childhood. It also carries a trace of the hands that shaped it and a whisper of the past reimagined for the children of today.
The founders are proudly paying a magnificent tribute to Portugal, their beloved homeland and its unique artisanal heritage, such as embroidery, still hopefully passed from one generation to the next in small villages. They have decided to reinterpret in their own way the Portuguese craftsmanship, and establish a dialogue between tradition and modernity that can perfectly and beautifully fuse.
"We often speak about what we call “historical sustainability.” For us, it means preserving not only the motifs and silhouettes of traditional garments, but also the patience, techniques, and artistry behind them. Historically, these pieces were created with intention and carried personal meaning for the people who wore them. Rather than simply preserving tradition, we seek to transform it. Children themselves embody that spirit. They are spontaneous, instinctive, and beautifully free. Through that lens, heritage becomes something alive again, playful, expressive, and relevant to the present." they explain. The whole production is organically based in Portugal, from the first sketches drawn to the final garment. The brand collaborates closely with exceptional ateliers and factories across the country, working ethically with skilled artisans whose dedication to quality and craftsmanship reflects its corporate values.
