Nymetwood Treehouses

Devon

United Kingdom

Have you ever experienced GLAMPING? if not and you can't wait to do it, there is a special and magical secret place in South West England, in the bucolic and rural county of Devon, you absolutely have to discover. The Moore Family is waiting for you. On a 20-acre site of woodland, meadow and apple orchard where they live and work in a 200-year old farmhouse, the Moore- James and Cherie, their young children and their black labrador- have built two stylish and Scandi-inspired black timber-clad treehouses, they have called 'Blackcap' and 'Starling'. It took them two well-spent years of work, together with local and renowned timber framers specialist Emanuel Hendry before welcoming their first happy guests a few months ago. The Nymetwood Treehouses' project is fully virtuous and sustainable as the Moore wished it to be: “After finding the perfect Devon's location, we were determined that the project should be low impact and benefit the local area wherever possible: so we worked with local contractors and suppliers throughout and ensured we used locally sourced and sustainable wood and materials. We’re actually really proud of the fact that not a single piece of plastic was used in the building’s construction,” said co-founder James Moore. Welcome hampers are also locally sourced and toiletries and cleaning products are organic and kind to the environment. As the Moore are convinced environmentalist farmers, they also have planted hundreds of new trees and hedge plants and turned their fields over to meadow to encourage butterflies, bees and other wildlife. James and Cherie dream that one day, their children will be able to continue to enjoy the site and hopefully be proud of what their parents have achieved. Staying for some days in one of these two secluded treetop luxury cabins, will truly allow you to embrace fresh air, relax, and if you want, pick apples from the orchard. Be sure this is the perfect choice for each eco-conscious traveller looking for a quality green break or, why not, for an out of the crowd honeymoon surrounded by nature you'll never forget.
