A brave and committed woman, descendant of honey producers and proud daughter of a professor in environmental management and zoology, with a simple and virtuous purpose: letting native wildwife recover, flourish and take back the lead. A passionate environmentalist who, together with her team has managed to turn a remote, run-down and neglected cattle farm, located in North's New Zealand and bought in 2004 into marvellous Tahi, (which means ‘first’ or ‘one’ in Māori) an award-winning conservation-nature sanctuary and one of the country’s most-prized, richest, rarest and most complex honeys. After almost 20 years of hard work and devotion, Suzan is now the happy owner of a reborn wild paradise (nearly 30 hectares of wetlands restored and 430,000 native trees planted), where native fishes, lizards, insects and birds have returned after so long: from 20 types of birds to 71 species, of which 22 are rare or endangered. An healthy and happy ecosystem which has inspired her to recently launch KAEĀ, the world's first biodiversity-centric and carbon negative performance-led botanical skincare brand, blending traditional plant wisdom together with UMF™ 15+ Mānuka Honey and green science. A perfect tribute to her beloved land and its unique biodiversity.
