Life is often strange. Can you imagine, that something you hated as a child, could unexpectedly, years after, turn itself into a strong passion of yours? And even, that one day, the latter could bring you to start your own entrepreneurial journey in your thirties? Marina Uzcanga, who is half French and half Spanish,  experienced it. Indeed she perfectly remembers that, as a child, she absolutely hated spending time in galleries and Modern Art Museums with her parents. Like most children,  at this young  age, she unfortunately was not yet able to understand this artistic and abstract dimension. But once she did, she literally fell in love, for life, with the world of Art and Design. The Bilbao-born manager, who graduated in Business Management at the ESADE Business School of Barcelona, the city she settled in after living in Switzerland, France and the USA, has never given up on her passion.  When she was not busy working in the field of marketing in the fashion industry, in her free time, she indeed took classes in painting and sculpture. And in 2021, something big happened: she finally find the perfect way to combine this long-lasting passion and her professional expertise in Fashion and start a new challenging and exciting personal and professional project from scratch: she established her luxury- which is, to her, all about simplicity and comfort- accessory brand called  'Matière Studio', a name, that comes from the idea of creating a space to experiment with different substances and materials and take the time to play with shapes and textures to design new objects. Sincerely disillusioned by the way Fashion Industry has been badly managed since decades, as new proud and committed founder and CEO, like most Millennials,  who belong to the Generation Y, Mariana has decided to turn her back to Fast Fashion and, at the contrary, to celebrate Slow Fashion and its virtuous and responsible values: ethicality, transparency, honesty, consciousness, respect for the artisans. At Matière Studio, being kind with the environment is a priority: Using only High-quality, natural and eco-friendly materials, with smooth textures, that elevate the product and offer a feeling of comfort, is a duty. Mariana and her team mix simple forms with organic sculptural shapes in order to design unique, elegant, practical and timeless handbags that can be treasured for a lifetime. One-of-a-kind pieces of Art,  handcrafted with devotion in Spain and sold at a reasonable price. Because profit is not the only aim of an entrepreneur. Mariana is more than ever convinced that premium quality should be more affordable. She is the proud ambassador of this new generation of young International entrepreneurs and change makers with good values, who are doing their best on a daily basis, to build a better and fairer world.
