Danish sisters Julie and Marie Skall were born and raised in the coastal area of Northern Jutland. They were lucky to grow up by the sea surrounded by a wild nature they have always respect and cherish. Since their childhood, they both love spending time collecting sheashells on the beach. As, at the beginning of 20th century, their great-grandfather and his brothers used to collect and sold for chicken food as a living. A job that earned the family its last name 'Skall' that means Sheashell in Danish. Fascinated by the simple and genuine way of life of their brave ancestors and influenced by the positive values and approach to life, Nature, humans and animals of their mother Jette, who is their first supporter,  Julie and Marie have always been conscious citizens and even more now that they both are mum themselves. Loyals to their cultural and ethical roots, in 2014, before the green revolution in progress, as environmental trailblazers and committed ambassadors of a slow and conscious fashion, the duo has established Skall Studio, its eponymous Copenhagen-based vegan women's ready-to-wear brand: eco-friendly, effortless, elegant, feminine and made to last. The Skall's sisters strongly believe that 'Less is enough'.  For their collections- Fur and leather free- , they only choose premium quality, natural and organic materials such as GOTS certified  cotton, recycled cotton, recycled cashmere, pure linen, Oeko-Tex certified hemp and RWS and RAS wool . They also support local and small craftsmanship in Denmark, India and around the world. Skall Studio is indeed know for its Danish signature knitwear made with Danish wool manufactured in one of the few remaining spinning mills in the country. As conscious mums, the founders have also launched Musling, a timeless design line designed for the small ones. The Flagship Store is located at Store Strandstræde 21 in the heart of Copenhagen.
