A private hideaway for those seeking genuine hospitality in a casual and relaxed setting, located in Mallorca near the small town of Alaro at the entry to the peak of the Serra de Tramuntana, one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites since 2011. A part of the island known for its spectacular landscapes including the Twin Peaks and for the Castell d‘Alaro mountain fortress. A remote and peaceful location, only 25 minute drive from the airport, Palma city centre and Mallorca’s famous beaches which offers to each lucky visitor a chance to disconnect and reengage with family and friends, alongside a close-knit team- available around the clock- offering an informal and discrete style of service and in-house conciergerie. Dating back to 1350, this traditional ‘possesio’, set on 40 hectares of land, is the magnificent property of Mats Wahlstrom, a successful Swiss-based Swedish entrepreneur, global nomad and founder of International hospitality group Puro who strongly believe that "a good location makes the difference in life". The spectacular location of Son Fuster at the foot of Tramuntana and the Alaro twin mountains together with the historical mystery of a 700-years-old building made my heart beat. The challenge to modernize the finca with state of the art technology, required for a comfortable living and a high level of sustainability, has been exciting. Bespoke interiors of the ten double rooms and shared spaces bring together eclectic art and design pieces gathered throughout a lifetime of travel whilst staying true to the building’s traditional Spanish roots. As sustainability is a priority on the farm, all electricity is generated by its own solar panels, waste is separated on property and either recycled or turned into compost for use on the estate’s organic garden. The staff distilles and bottles its own drinking water and recycles wastewater for use in irrigation. All toiletries are 100% vegan, and where possible, provided in refillable containers. Chefs- ambassadors of Slow food- prioritise ingredients organically home-grown on property or sourced through trusted local suppliers to cook the tailored menus according to guests’ preferences and dietary needs. For the guests in search of activities, they are literally spoiled with choice.
