In life, listening to your gut, can surely help you make the right decisions, and avoid the bad ones. The fact is ' When you know, you know'. After she earned the very prestigious French distinction of 'Knight of the National Order of Merit' in March 2024, Anne-Cécile Bannier-Mathieu, a successful and skilled Bordeaux-based lawyer, specialized in international trade law, knew instantly that her fully-blossomed career has reached the peak. The loop was definitely closed. Thanks to constant hard work and dedication, entire commitment to her company, and after travelling around the world for many years for work, she indeed has reached the finish line. She really could not dream of more achievements as a lawyer. Sincerely convinced that this was the right decision for her at this point in her life, she naturally resigned from her job.
After getting her freedom back and slowly navigating this big life transition, Anne-Cécile felt the deep need of exploring new horizons: using the master's degree in management she obtained ten years before, was definitely on her mind when it comes to rebuilding a brand new career from scratch.
In October 2024, not knowing yet exactly what life had in store for her and what she would do next, she embarked on a work trip to Africa- a continent close to her heart-  and visited the Ivory Coast in company of a Senegalese friend trader of hers. The first one to tell her about a very special tree, the Moringa Tree, that grows in his country. An unexpected discovery that will change her life forever.
After informing herself about the topic with passion, a few months later, in December 2024, on a family trip, she finally headed to Senegal to see it with her own eyes.
And unsurprisingly,  'It was love at first sight'. She literally fell in love with this local tree, also called the 'Tree of Life'. A humble and miraculous tree with many powerful benefits (like antibacterial virtues) for human health. Anne-Cécile immediately had an intuition about this special tree and, especially, about the precious and highly-nourishing-and-protective-for-the-skin oil that is extracted from it. Almost, out of the blue, she has found her new purpose in life.
Then following the methodical approach that characterizes her personality, she took the time she needed to get prepared. Once ready, believing in the maxim 'Fortune favors the bold', she finally came up with the beautiful idea of establishing her own eco-conscious premium skincare label. An ethical, effective, 'Made in France', Nature-inspired and science-driven brand with African roots called Maison Amorine - the perfect fusion of the words: Amour and Moringa. A positive and hopeful message from the founder to the world, not only another slow skincare brand. A true and genuine invitation to slow down, reconnect with Nature and enjoy, on a daily basis, a well-being ritual through a beauty routine that is clean and kind to the planet and to its people. Maison Amorine is a personal and sincere tribute to our Mother Earth and especially to Africa. A reminder that we can take care of ourselves in a respectful way.
To be able to launch her brand and create clinically-proven formulas, supported by a team of expert insiders, the former lawyer used her own savings but also launched, with success, a crowdfunding on the French platform Ulule. Thanks to this campaign, she has been noticed by the Parisian fair Who is next and last september, a stand to showcase her range of products has been offered to her. The elegant logo has been designed by a former Artistic Director of Maison Christian Dior, met in January 2025 during a chance encounter.
As a committed eco founder, Anne-Cécile always wanted her brand to be as circular as possible. That is why at Maison Amorine, the packaging is exclusively sustainable- glass bottle at 90 %- and customized and enhanced with original wax prints. A meaningful choice directly inspired by the founder's deep respect for African culture and its people.
As a bold woman on a mission and a true role model, sharing back the value is a priority for Anne-Cécile. She is indeed happy to be able to support the local economy and empower African female workers,by giving back the 1 % of the business income to the Economic Interest Groups of women that she is working with in Senegal and Rwanda where she sourced recycled Moringa's seed meal and hibiscus.
Because at Maison Amorine it is all about ethicality, supporting each other and cherishing Mother Earth.
