Who are you?
I am a Milanese PR.
When did you embark on a career in the fashion industry in Milan?
I started from the basics. My first experience in a Press Office was at Missoni as a receptionist. I was in charge of the sample’s movement, press clippings and all the back office activities. Then, step by step, I slowly grew working for renowned fashion brands as Roberto Cavalli, Sergio Rossi, Jimmy Choo and Casadei. Two years ago, as I was ready to build my own business, I founded Vera Bosisio PR.
How and when did you come up with the brilliant idea of co-founding your own niche agency and creative studio TALES of WONDER?
TALES of WONDER is not an agency. It is a collective project co-founded by Carolina Neri, Alessandra Ilari, and myself, aimed at offering a fresh, different, and bespoke approach to branding. Our goal is to help brands articulate their vision, define their narrative, and effectively embody their core values in a new and more flexible way.
Why did you choose this so-original name? Is there by chance a funny anecdote connected to this choice of yours?
Actually not. It came naturally during a brain storming as we were playing with words starting from the concept that we are story tellers.
What exactly is TALES OF WONDER about?
TALES of WONDER is a new approach to communication consultancy. It is distinct from traditional agencies as we utilize a unique deep-dive approach that, like a mosaic, combines the specific strengths of each professional in their area of expertise. Through this customized lens, we provide comprehensive full-service packages or one-off projects, supported by a carefully curated network of professionals.
By the way, when and where did you meet your two co-founders?
We have been working in the same industry for ages … Alessandra as Journalist for key titles as WWD and W, Carolina as stylist and creative director. We have been sharing the same values and approach. It came naturally to build something together.
What from your previous professional experiences do you bring to the table?
I would say everything. The professional figure I am today is the result of all the successes and failures of my past. I am sure Mistakes are key to grow.
What is your specific role and what are you in charge of within this one-o-f a-kind female entrepreneurial trio?
I am in charge of Press Office PR i.e. I offer PR and communications consultancy services. I love to define customized communication strategies that include PR activities, editorial and social media activations, events, and partnerships.
How did you make it creating a perfect work balance and synergie between the three skilled, successful and strong women that you, Carolina and Alessandra are?
It really came naturally. Al the projects that we take, are managed with care and respect.
What makes the unicity of your agency on the market?
We are the only collective project in Milan. We are not an agency, we want to offer something more modern and efficient through a group of highly qualified freelancers.
How do you usually choose the partners and clients you are working for and with?
Sometimes we choose, sometimes we are chosen. In general we like to see that there is a vision and consistency in the project. It is the key to build a trusted relationship.
How did you meet Ludovica and Ginevra Fagioli, the two talented twin sisters founders of the Italian luxury slow ready-to-wear Caftanii and members of our international community?
I contacted them applying as Press Officer as I literally fell I love with their romantic and refined lifestyle and they became my first client!
As an experienced PR Manager, how did you adapt to a changing and struggling fashion industry?
You have to be always updated, curious, open minded to adapt to new challenges. Also being consistent with your positioning is a key element. Sometimes to decline a project that is not in line with you is a strategic choice even if less remunerative.
How important sustainability, ethicality and craftsmanship are for you as an insider and a as a consumer?
They are all important. We as Italian are spoiled as we all grew up surrounded by beauty. Craftsmanship is part of the DNA of our country. The unique hard work of skilled artisans is something we must preserve and not give for granted. At the same time, we must train ourselves to change old bad habits and to embrace a more ethical and sustainable approach to life. As for example, we have to stop over consuming in general….
Where do you escape from your busy and metropolitan work routine in your freetime?
It depends, If I can I get away from Milan otherwise I stay in Milan with no plans apart enjoying my friends, reading, cooking, gardening…. but I am not an expert at all I just find it very relaxing.
Could you ever imagine yourself embracing slowness and living in the countryside in the near future?
Sometimes I dream about it but at the end of the day I am 100% Milanese and I love the chaos of my city. I fear I could get bored to stay more than 7 days in the countryside.
